This plug and play kit replaces the bulky, weak stock ignition coils with modern, powerful VW/Audi coils paired with a plug-and-play wiring harness set up for wasted spark or sequential setups.

Coil on plug kit comes with
- 4x NGK R8 Coil (If chosen) Red or Black 
- 1x Wiring harness with 4 genuine VAG Connectors, Quality wire, snakeskin and glued heatshrink protected.

Pinout:
12V+ switched : Red
Ground: Black
Coil #1 : Purple

Coil #2 : Green

Coil #3 : Yellow 

Coil #4 : Blue 


 

Notes: 


1. Choosing your chassis!
- All NA 1.6 liter chassis cars (90 HP aswell!) came with the igniter module on the passenger side of the engine bay.
 
- 1.8 and nearly all NBs came with the dual coilpack on the valve cover with the two 4-pin connectors (only using 3 pins, one empty spot)
All VVT equiped cars have the coil-on-plug with a shared coil. these have 3-pin connectors.

- 1.8 or 1.8 VVT engine swap? Pick the chassis your original car (wiring harness) has. this is due to the coil on plug kit connecting to the original harness. Also let us know in the text box. The VVT Coils are different length.

2. Wasted spark or sequential
All wiring harnesses are initially wired with a wasted spark configuration. Switching to sequential is easy, connect the Coil 3 and 4 signal (yellow and blue respectively) directly to your standalone ecu.

3. We highly reccomend using this coil harness with a standalone ECU. This will insure the best lifetime of the Coils with the proper dwell-time settings. See (diagram). Stock ECU's will have higher dwell times, substantially shortening the coil lifespan.

4. Note for VVT engines
The VVT valvecover is slightly different and might need some modification of the ignition coil's seal or and/or spacer ring.

5. Note for engine swapped cars
The Coil harness is designed to fit the chassis car, not the engine.
example: If you have swapped a 1.8 VVT engine into your NA 1.6 chassis, You will need to order the 1.6 NA wiring loom.

6. Note for all NA chassis cars
Initially these coils will not give an RPM signal to your Tacho in the cluster. You will need to change the outputs on your ecu to send the RPM signal to your cluster.
Our EMU Black plug&Play kits come with th AUX 4 tacho wired directly to the cluster.
