Drive by wire throttlebody allows for
for cool features like cruisecontrol, max throttle position per gear and throttle blipping!

Note: You need to have a (standalone) ECU that supports this.

The kit includes a high-quality Bosch Motorsport throttle body and wiring harness (1,5m long)


Why would I convert to drive by wire?

  1. Cruise Control: In combination with a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor), brake switch, clutch switch and activation switch. you can use cruisecontrol to maintain a constant speed without having to use your accelator pedal.
  2. Traction Control: Maintains throttle input at a certain wheel slip percentage, based on revs per second or wheel speed.
  3. Speed Limiter: Useful for race cars as a pit limiter or as a regular speed limiter for street cars.
  4. Throttle Position per Gear: Similar to "Boost By Gear" without using boost control. For example, in a high-power car, you can set the throttle to open only 50% in first gear to maintain better traction.
  5. Idle Control Integrated into the Throttle Body: Deletes the idle air control valve, freeing up an additional output.
  6. Instant Throttle Response: Provides a practically instant response from the pedal to the throttle body.
  7. Throttle Blipping
    Useful for downshifting.
  8. Multiple Throttle Response Tables: Customize the relationship between the pedal and the throttle.
  9. Automatic Calibration: Depending on the ECU, the system calibrates the DBW setup.
  10. Easy Installation: Two cables with two PPS (Pedal Position Sensors), two TPS (Throttle Position Sensors), and motor + and -.
  11. Rev Limiter Option via Throttle.
  12. Limp Mode Capabilities: Set safety features to prevent engine damage.
  13. Stuck Throttle Protection: An extra safety strategy that uses the brake switch and pedal position sensor to maintain control if the throttle gets stuck or fails.
  14. Redundancy/Safety: With dual throttle position and pedal position sensors, the throttle closes automatically if there's a significant difference between the two throttle position sensors. 


*Your ECU (engine control unit) must support these options to utilize the electronic throttle.

ECUs such as ME221, ME442, ECUmaster EMU Black, Link ECU, Maxx ECU, and many more support Drive by Wire.

The Bosch Motorsport 60mm throttle body is larger than the original throttle body. This means the intake manifold becomes the new bottleneck, as its opening is about 59mm. Compared to the original mx5 throttle body (55 mm diameter), this is a surface area increase of 24%.
